DESTINY DAVENPORT, Ph. D.
Destiny Davenport is a registered patent agent specializing in patent prosecution and patent portfolio management in the molecular biology discipline. Destiny has served a diverse set of clients as a registered Patent Agent in a law firm and a large global biotech company, where she has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a wide range of areas of biotechnology such as genetically modified plant biotechnology, vaccines, antibodies, cancer detection tools, plant and animal breeding mechanisms, disease screening tools, molecular markers, and a range of laboratory tools. Destiny has extensive experience in protecting intellectual property in the field of agricultural biotechnology, including the protection of trait technologies as well as obtaining drafting and prosecuting utility patents on plant varieties in numerous different crops.
Prior to entering the IP field, Destiny was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Department of Nutrition, where she led a multidisciplinary team at the National Institutes of Environmental Health Science to develop cost-effective strategies for performing large-scale proteomics experiments and for evaluating early markers for colon cancer and uterine fibroids.
Destiny spends her spare time on home improvement projects, running, and being a soccer mom.
