Daniel Rothrock is a technical specialist for MMWV specializing in computer and electrical fields. Dan has a passion for both micro- and macro-electronics and enjoys tinkering with microcontrollers in his spare time. Further, Dan’s pursuing his interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and distributed ledger technologies (e.g. blockchains) and their application in various industries.
Dan’s role within MMWV is multi-faceted, he advises on patent applications within his technical specialties, manages aspects of the MMWV cloud system, and conducts all database maintenance issues.
Prior to joining MMWV, Dan’s 7 years of experience consisted of design engineering and project engineering for a variety of technical projects. Helping clients achieve their project’s goals while utilizing cost saving effective solutions. A notable example, Dan captured $9.6m in savings for a Department of Defense (DoD) project by utilizing various value engineering techniques and Lean Six Sigma efforts. Other projects Dan has contributed to include, safety related systems for nuclear power plants and first-of-a-kind equipment associated with chemical weapon demilitarization.
Dan received a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in 2011 and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Kentucky. When Dan is not diving into cutting edge technologies or taking apart random electronics, he spends his time with his fiance and their 1-year old black lab, Marlee, enjoying hiking, rock climbing, and camping.
